The 106 brakes are very good. With discs all round the standard setup is capable of 60-0 in 3.1 seconds. I have only mildly uprated my braking system with fast road front pads, braided hoses, High quality brake fluid and Stainless steel braided hoses with stainless fittings.
There are several popular upgrades for the rallye front brakes. With money no object a pair of aftermarket alloy 4 pot calipers can be easily fitted to improve the stopping power. Alternatively for those on a budget the larger 206 GTi rotors and calipers are a neat fit as are the 306 GTi Items, fitting these results in only a moderate increase in pedal travel which can be eliminated by way of fitting a mastercylinder from one of the bigger Peugeots.
